Dr. Geoffrey Collins

At the Center for Orthopaedics, Dr. Collins seeks to provide cutting edge orthopedic care in a friendly environment. Dr. Collins believes in developing a partnership with his patients until they reach their pre-injury level of activity.

Dr. Collins is a Board Certified and Fellowship Trained Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in complete and partial knee and shoulder replacement as well as arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs and ACL reconstructions.

Dr. Collins was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and raised in New Orleans. He received his Bachelors of Science degree from LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He graduated from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans where he continued on graduating from a rigorous 5-year orthopedic residency program. In order to pursue his love of sports and athletic injuries he applied for a voluntary sports medicine program at the University of Miami. He was awarded the position from among a field of 150 applicants.

During the Fellowship he had the opportunity to work with the World Champion Florida Marlins, the Miami Dolphins, and the Miami Hurricanes. After completing the Fellowship, he moved to Natchitoches, Louisiana, where he was one of the team physicians for the NSU Demons. He then moved to Lake Charles to join the Center for Orthopaedics and continue delivering cutting-edge orthopedics to his patients.
